About DORNA

DORNA is an independent, non-partisan policy institute dedicated to Iran's democratic transition. It prepares the frameworks, the coalitions and the sequencing that an ordered transition from dictatorship to democracy requires.

What we do

Research. DORNA produces reports and policy proposals on the conditions of a democratic transition in Iran and on the policies democratic governments can adopt to support it.

Convening. DORNA brings together experts, practitioners and civil society actors across political lines.

Advocacy. DORNA engages governments, parliaments and international institutions with concrete, documented proposals.

Independence

DORNA stands above political factions. It holds no claim to power and is aligned with no party, leader, or ethnic or religious constituency. Its work serves one objective: a secular, democratic Iran decided by Iranians.

How we work

DORNA works with a network of experts and practitioners in human rights, law, security, economics and public policy. Contributors are credited in the publications they take part in. Some are not named, for their safety and that of their families in Iran.

Legal status
